NYPD Technology Helps Harlem Cops Arrest Man Wanted For Robberies

NYPD-issued smart phones helped police officers from the 32 precinct verify the identity of a man wanted for multiple violent crimes in Manhattan and arrest him. On Monday January 1, at approximately 1:45 p.m., Police Officer Abdrabou and his partner, Policer Officer Vasconez, were on patrol when they were stopped by a person at the intersection of West 135 Street and Lenox Avenue in Harlem.

They were informed by the person that a man wanted for two robberies and assaults in Manhattan was in the waiting area of a local hospital. The police officers conducted a wanted person check on their Police Department issued smart phones and located a wanted posterĀ of the suspect. They immediately went to the hospital where they were able to identify the man and place him under arrest.

Arrested: Male, 60 years old

Charges: Multiple counts of Robbery and Assault

The suspect also had an active Parole Warrant when he was apprehended.
