On Wednesday, September 27 cops and community gathered to ensure that NYPD Sergeant Paul Tuozzolo is never forgotten. Purdy Street, from Metropolitan Avenue to St. Raymond Avenue, in the Bronx was named “Sgt. Paul J. Tuozzolo Way.”
“It’s an inauguration of this block as a permanent place of remembrance for Sgt. Paul Tuozzolo,” said Police Commissioner O’Neill.
There are three schools on this street that will allow NYC’s youngest community members to honor and learn about Sergeant Tuozzolo’s sacrifice. Sergeant Tuozzolo was the schools sergeant in the 43 Precinct until he was killed in the line of duty on November 4, 2016.
Please join us in our vow to never forget New York City’s fallen heroes.
