WANTED: Homicide (Bronx)

The New York City Police Department is asking the public for assistance with locating and identifying an individual depicted in the attached photo who is wanted for questioning in connection to the above described incident.

The individual wanted for questioning is identified as 25-year-old Elijah Smith who is 6’1″, 290lbs with black hair and brown eyes.  He was last seen feeling the scene of the shooting in a gray 4 door sedan with Connecticut license plate.

  •  The NYPD is offering a reward up to $2,500 payable by Crime Stoppers for information leading to an arrest or indictment in this incident.

On Monday, August 7, 2017 at approximately 2020 hours, police responded to a 911 call of a person shot inside of 718 East 219 Street, first floor, within the confines of the 47 Precinct. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 34-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his torso. EMS responded to the location and transported the victim to Jacobi Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased on Wednesday, August 9, 2017. There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.
