WANTED: Grand Larceny (Staten Island)

The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the individual depicted in the attached video and photograph in connection to a grand larceny that occurred within the confines of the 120 Precinct. Details are as follows:

 It was reported to police that on Tuesday August 22, 2017, at approximately 1:00 p.m. in the vicinity of Jewett Avenue and Forest Avenue, the individual approached the 81 year-old male victim as he waited at the bus stop and engaged him in conversation. When the bus arrived, the individual reached into the victim’s pants’ pocket and removed his wallet. The wallet contained, among other things, the victim’s debit card and approximately $60 in cash. The individual fled on foot eastbound on Forest Avenue.

The individual is described as a:

  •  Male black, 17 to 24 years old, 6’0″, 170lbs, with short dread locks; last seen wearing a black t-shirt, black shorts and light colored sneakers.
