The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the individual depicted in the attached video and photograph in connection to a grand larceny that occurred within the confines of the Midtown South Precinct/Transit District 4. Details are as follows:
It was reported to police that on Saturday June 24, 2017, at approximately 5:16 p.m. inside of the 42 Street/Grand Central Station, the individual snatched the 44 year-old female victim’s purse off her arm and fled down the platform. Good Samaritans chased after the individual and lost sight of him after he jumped onto the southbound train tracks and fled into the subway tunnel. Among the items inside the victim’s purse were her cell phone, a credit card and approximately $25 in cash.
The individual is described as a:
- Male Hispanic; last seen wearing a gray long sleeved shirt with stripes, dark colored jeans and he had on a large black backpack.
