“Getting a high powered weapon like this off of the streets is a great success. Focused deployment in crime prone areas leads to arrests like this,” said Captain Brian Bohannon, Commanding Officer of the 106 Precinct.
Members of the 106 Precinct Anti-crime Team were on patrol at 135 Street and Rockaway Boulevard when they pulled over a car for a traffic infraction. The Police Officers approached the vehicle and ordered the occupants out of the car after the driver was found to have a suspended license. Additionally, one of the passengers had an open warrant. A subsequent investigation lead to the recovery of a .45 cal revolver capable of firing .410 cal shotgun cartridges.
