Police Involved Shooting (Brooklyn)

REMARKS AS DELIVERED BY CHIEF JEFFREY B. MADDREY, COMMANDING OFFICER PATROL BOROUGH BROOKLYN NORTH:

Good evening. This information is preliminary and subject to change. At a short time before 9:00p.m., we received a 911 call about a physical fight at 110 Shepherd Avenue. As officers arrived, they were encountered by several males, who we believe are roommates at this time at the same address.

One of the two roommates re-entered the apartment while the officers were conducting an investigation and shortly appeared later with a knife and began to stab one of his fellow roommates.
He stabs his roommate at least two times in both forearms and began to chase his roommate as he tried to run away from him. Our officers gave commands to the male to drop the knife and fired one time to protect the roommate who was being stabbed. The male immediately fell he was rendered aid and removed to Brookdale Hospital for observation. Our victim was removed to Jamaica Hospital. He is in stable condition at this time and at least two or three of our officers were removed to Jamaica Hospital for observation. This investigation is continuing right now and we have more witnesses to interview and more video to review to continue the investigation.
