The Fire Department of New York held an Inter-Agency Appreciation Ceremony on Wednesday in honor of the many agencies that collaborate with the FDNY and help keep New York City safe. The event was held at the FDNY Training Academy on Randall’s Island in Manhattan and specifically recognized all agencies and companies that helped the FDNY with 31 line-of-duty funerals over the past two years.
FDNY Commissioner Daniel Nigro presided over the event and thanked those present for their continued support. Police Commissioner James O’Neill and NYPD members from throughout the city were in attendance. NYPD representatives received awards on behalf of various benevolent associations, precincts, boroughs, and specialized units. The NYPD’s ability to protect the City relies on crucial relationships with the FDNY and other city agencies. The NYPD looks forward to continuing to strengthen the bonds between our departments as we support each other in our mission to save lives and keep New York City safe.
