The NYPD is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the deceased individual in connection to the investigation below.

On Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at approximately 11:21 a.m. police responded to a 911 call for a body floating in the water in the vicinity of Gowanus Bay and Buttermilk Channel in the confines of the 76th Precinct. NYPD’s Harbor unit recovered the unidentified female and transported her to Pier 44. EMS responded and pronounced the individual deceased. The New York City Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death and the investigation is ongoing.
