Pursuant to an ongoing investigation, the following individual has been arrested and charged:
- Bartow-Popvitz, Genevieve
- 36-year-old female
- 40 Watson Avenue
- Staten Island, NY
- Grand Larceny
The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating an unidentified female in regards to a grand larceny that occurred in Transit District 04/13precinct. Details are as follows:
It was reported to police that on Wednesday, May 31st 2017 at approximately 12:35 a.m. on the subway platform of the southbound # 6 train at Union Square Station, a 30-year old female was sitting on the bench and placed her backpack and cell phone down on the bench seat. The victim then boarded a southbound #4 train leaving her possessions behind on the bench. Once the victim realized her belongings were not in her possession, she immediately got off at the next stop and took a return train back to Union Square station, and realized her backpack and cell phone were removed by an unidentified individual. The victim contacted police and pursuant to an investigation discovered that a female White or Hispanic, in her 30’s was observed removing the victim’s bag and leaving the station on a southbound train.
The suspect is described as a:
- Female White or Hispanic with black hair who was last seen wearing a dark gray sweat jacket, blue pants with gray sneakers and carrying a green and blue shopping bag.
