To the men and women of the New York City Police Department:
Tonight, families will gather for the beginning of Passover. On this night of the Seder, I offer my thanks to each and every member of the NYPD for your unceasing hard work fighting crime and keeping people safe.
Passover is a holiday of liberation, and it’s a way to remember the sacrifices made to guarantee our freedoms. As New York City police officers, we are the caretakers of those freedoms. Because we live in an era of constantly-evolving threats of terrorism, I ask that you continue to be vigilant as you go about your daily work – on this night of feasts, and every night.
Thank you for all you do and, as always, remain safe.
