The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the individual depicted in the attached sketch in connection to a grand larceny that occurred within the confines of the 88 Precinct. Details are as follows:
It was reported to police that on Friday October 21, 2016, at approximately 3:20 p.m. inside of a residence in the vicinity of Clinton Avenue and Lafayette Avenue, an individual called the 66 year-old female victim on her home phone and posed as a friend. The individual told her that he was under arrested and asked her for $9,500 in cash for bail money. After the victim agreed to his request an individual arrived inside of a green four door sedan and collected the money from her. After that individual left, the victim received another call asking for more money. When the victim became suspicious she called her friend directly and discovered that he had not been arrested.
The individual is described as a;
- Male black, 25 to 30 years old, slim build, short “Afro” styled hair, dark complexion, no facial hair and a dark birthmark on the left side of his face.
