Teamwork Closes Manhattan Robbery Pattern

“Coordination between the two precincts concerned led to a robbery suspect being taken off the streets,” said Inspector Peter Venice, commanding officer of the Midtown North Precinct.

Police Officers arrested a woman for robberies in Manhattan in late January. The 25-year-old woman is suspected of robbing seven commercial locations within the confines of the 20 Precinct and Midtown North Precinct. The first robbery was at a Duane Reade pharmacy on Tuesday, January 31. The suspect entered the locations and demanded money after simulating a firearm in her pocket.

At approximately 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 1, Lieutenant DellaUniversita, Sergeant Amundson and Police Officer Fitzpatrick of the Midtown North Precinct arrested the woman at West 48 Street and 9 Avenue after receiving a 911 call that a suspect matching her description had just robbed a store nearby within the confines of the 20 Precinct.

Police officers in the Midtown North Precinct and 20 Precinct worked together to locate and arrest the woman. The suspect was charged with multiple counts of robbery.
