WANTED: Attempted Rape (Brooklyn)


The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the individual depicted in the attached video wanted for questioning in connection to an attempted rape that occurred within the confines of the 70th Precinct. Details are as follows:

 It was reported to the police that on Sunday, January 1, 2017 at approximately 11:35 p.m. a 22-year-old female was walking to her residence in the Ditmas Park section when she encountered an unidentified male as she was entering her building. The male engaged her in conversation and entered the elevator with the female. As the two rode the elevator to the victim’s floor, the male began to grab the female, throw her to the ground and attempted to remove her pants. The victim screamed, and the individual fled when the doors of the elevator opened. The victim was treated and released at the scene by EMS. There are no arrests at this time and the incident is being investigated by Brooklyn Special Victims Squad.

 The individual is described as a:

  • Male Black, approximately 20-years-old, 5’9” and 160lbs, dark complexion, black short length hair.
  • Wearing a black work boots and blue hooded jacket and blue jeans.
