Anti-Crime officers in the Bronx arrested three suspects and recovered two loaded illegal handguns last week. Police Officers Cruver and Spina of the 44 Precinct’s Anti-Crime team stopped a vehicle for a traffic infraction at the intersection of East 168 Street and College Avenue. As the two officers approached the driver they smelled a strong odor of marijuana and observed a gravity knife inside the car. Further investigation led to the recovery of a .40 caliber Taurus handgun and a Jimenez Arms 9mm handgun that had been reported stolen in Norfolk, Virginia. The driver and two passengers were arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of marijuana.
