The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the individuals depicted in the attached video in connection to an assault that occurred, in transit, within the confines of the 13th Precinct. Details are as follows:
It was reported to police that on Sunday, November 13, 2016, at approximately 9:25 a.m. the victim, a 40-year-old male and an unidentified individual was onboard the northbound “N/R” train at Court Street when a verbal dispute over differing religions. The train doors opened at 14th Street Union Square when the individual stood up from his seat and struck the victim in the face with a close fist causing an abrasion and contusion to right eye. The individual then exited the train and fled upstairs to parts unknown. The investigation is ongoing by the Hate Crimes Task Force.
The individual is described as a:
- Male Black, approximately 35-years-old, 6’0″ tall with brown short brown hair
- Last seen wearing dark blue jeans and a green jacket.
