To the men and women of the New York City Police Department:
Today is Thanksgiving, and all across our nation people are gathering with their loved ones to give thanks for all that we have. Millions of New Yorkers, in every neighborhood of this great city, are thankful for you – the men and women of the NYPD.
For nearly 34 years, I’ve seen first-hand the amazing things you’ve accomplished. Today, thousands of you are watching over the parade and all its spectators, while thousands more are patrolling our communities, keeping residents and workers safe.
We are in a unique profession, and you carry out your duties uniquely well – everyday. It’s not easy being away from your families and friends today. I know the sacrifices you make. And I’m grateful for your dedication and your professionalism. Thank you, be safe, and happy Thanksgiving.
