NYPD Community Affairs Honored For Their Toys for Tots Work

“We are excited and looking forward to working with the Marines again this year. The Youth Services Section helps the Marines sort, bag and distribute toys the weeks leading up to Christmas.

We don’t get to see the smiles on the kid’s faces but we hear the stories from the officers and it makes it all worth it,” said Sergeant Kerrissa Michael.

NYPD Sergeant Kerrissa Michael, Detective Vickie Bedore, and Police Officer Angela Facey of the Youth Services Section were honored at a recent 84 precinct’s Community Council Breakfast. The Community Council presented awards to the police officers for their work in partnership with the United States Marine Corps, Toys for Tots Foundation. In 2015, the USMC gave the NYPD approximately 30,000 toys to distribute to the less fortunate children in our communities. Currently the Youth Services Section is preparing for the 2016 holiday season.
