The NYPD hosted a Military Seminar at One Police Plaza Friday. The all-day event was an information sharing session held for members of the Department who have returned from military deployments, as well as all police personnel with prior military service.
Representatives from units within the Department spoke to the veterans about career opportunities, pension information and the new Candidate Assessment Division.
Military personnel within the New York City Police Department:
- Total Veterans: 4,290 (approximately 12% of the Department)
- Currently 154 members of the service are deployed to both stateside and overseas locations
- 115 current members of the service have been deployed as part of a wartime effort
Friday’s seminar is one of the many ways the NYPD not only highlights members that serve the Nation and the City, but supports them in many ways too.
