“Keeping You Safe” — NYPD Officer Shares An Important Message With Young Students

“I wanted to tell the children that we as police officers are there for them. We are not just arresting bad guys. We are there to help them in any way that we can,” said Police Officer Banks.

Police Officer Banks from the 1st Precinct visited a Brooklyn elementary school recently to read to children about what cops do for the community. Earlier this month, Officer Tanisha Banks was invited to PS 38 in Brooklyn to be the “Mystery Reader.” She visited seven different pre-k and kindergarten classrooms to read the book “Keeping You Safe” to the young students.

The students were so enthusiastic to have a police officer visit them that the principal asked if Officer Banks could return for Career Day.
