Bronx School Supply Giveaway

On Thursday, September 9, more than a million New York City students nervously (or grudgingly) went back to class for the 2016-2017 school year. The NYPD not only provides the thousands of School Safety Agents who keep schools around the city safe, it also helps students prepare. Last week, Inspector Ruel Stephenson in the 47th Precinct in the Bronx held a back-to-school event for the community, with supplies and backpack giveaways. Many other commands hosted similar events, because working with young people is a key to Neighborhood Policing.
