The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the individual depicted in the attached video and photograph in connection to a robbery that occurred within the confines of the 9 Precinct. Details are as follows:
It was reported to police that on Saturday May 7, 2016, at approximately 4:45 a.m. in the vicinity of East 10 Street and 1 Avenue, the suspect followed the 21 year-old female victim into the vestibule of a residential building, tackled her to the ground and ripped her purse out of her hands. The suspect fled out of the building westbound on 10 Street. The victim subsequently recovered the purse a few blocks from the incident location.
The individual is described as:
- Male Hispanic, 40 to 45 years old, 5’8″, medium build; last seen wearing a red hooded sweater and blue jeans.
