WANTED: Collision Investigation-Fatal (Brooklyn)

 

On Sunday May 1, 2016 at approximately 12:49 p.m. police responded to a 911 call of a motor vehicle accident involving two vehicles in the vicinity of East 94 Street and Avenue K, within the confines of the 69 Precinct.  Two pedestrians were struck as a result of the vehicle accident. EMS also responded to the location and removed three victims to Brookdale Hospital. Further investigation by the NYPD’s Highway Unit’s Collision Investigation Squad determined that an SUV struck a four door sedan at the intersection at a high rate of speed. The SUV careened out of control and struck two pedestrians on the sidewalk (a 51 year-old female and a 57 year-old male). The female succumbed to her injuries at the hospital and the male is in stable condition. The driver of the four door sedan, a 20 year-old male, remained at the scene and was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the SUV and his passenger abandoned the SUV and fled on foot. The investigation revealed that the SUV was reported stolen in the 67 Precinct on April 29, 2016. There are no arrests at this time and the investigation is ongoing by the Collision Investigation Squad.

The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the individuals depicted in the attached video and photographs in connection to the above incident that occurred within the confines of the 69 Precinct.

The first individual is a male, black, 15 to 20 years old, slim build; last seen wearing a dark colored jacket with an American flag pattern on its shoulders, a dark colored hooded sweater, black and white sweatpants and dark colored sneakers.

The second individual is a male, black, 15 to 20 years old, slim build; last seen wearing a dark colored hooded sweater, a blue t-shirt, brown pants, black sneakers and he carried a dark colored jacket.

The third individual is a male, black , 15 to 20 years old, slim build; last seen wearing a dark colored hooded sweater, a red shirt, black sweatpants and black sneakers.
