“We’re looking to get younger kids more involved and to connect to their officers,” said Captain Minch, commanding officer of PSA 3. “This is the first of many events that we have planned.”
NYPD Housing cops held their first “Cops and Kids” game night at the Bushwick Houses Community Center earlier this month. The event took place from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and gave police officers the opportunity to connect with children in the community while they all had a good time. There were video game systems available for some friendly cops vs. kids competition, as well as pool tables, ping-pong, and checkers. Police Service Area 3 Neighborhood Coordination Officers and members of the Community Affairs Bureau were on hand along with members of the NYPD’s Law Enforcement Explorer program with more information on how young people can get more involved with the NYPD.
