WANTED: Robbery and Assault (Manhattan)

The New York City Police Department is asking the public’s assistance identifying the individual depicted in the attached surveillance video in regards to a robbery and assault that occurred within the confines of the 24th Precinct. Details are as follows:

On Thursday, February 18th, 2016 at 4:55 p.m. in front of 105 West 88 Street, the victim a 33-year-old male was walking westbound on 88 Street when he was approached from behind by a unknown male. The male grabbed the victim from behind placed a knife to his neck and demanded his property. The victim complied giving the unknown male his Apple Kindle and Apple headphones, a struggle ensued and the unknown individual stabbed the victim in the upper back before fleeing eastbound on West 88 Street and last seen Westbound on 89 Street.  EMS responded to the scene and transported the victim to St.Luke’s Hospital where he is listed in stable condition.

The person of interest is described as a male black, mid 20’s, approximately 5’9″ tall, weighing 160 lbs with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a blue jogging jacket, blue jeans, black “Nike” sweatshirt, black sneakers and a red baseball cap.
