The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the vehicle depicted in the attached video in connection to a hit and run that occurred within the confines of the 78 Precinct. Details are as follows:
On Sunday February 28, 2016, at approximately 4:56 a.m. in the vicinity of 9 Street and 5 Avenue in Brooklyn, the suspect’s vehicle passed a red light and struck the 41 year-old male victim as he crossed 5 Avenue. The suspect did not stop and fled South on 5 Avenue. The victim was taken to Methodist Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The suspect’s vehicle is described as a:
- Late model 4 door Nissan Altima, light brown or tan in color, with damage to the passenger side of the vehicle.
- The car is missing its passenger side mirror, its bumper is broken and the passenger side headlight and fog light are inoperable.
