UPDATE 2/23/16: Suspect in connection to this assault is in custody.
The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying an unknown male seen in the attached photo in connection with an assault within the confines of the 6th Precinct (Manhattan). Details are as follows:
On Wednesday, February 17, 2016, at 8:00 p.m. police responded to a 911 call of an assault inside of Silver Spurs Diner located at 490 Laguardia Place, in the confines of the 6th Precinct. Upon arrival, responding officers discovered the victim, a 25-year-old male, who was slashed on the left cheek. EMS responded and transported the victim to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition. A preliminary investigation determined that an unknown male came into the diner and began asking patrons for donations. The unknown male was asked to leave and complied. He returned five minutes later, slashed the victim and fled northbound on Laguardia Place.
The unknown male is:
- Black or Hispanic, 15-18 years old and was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and dark jeans.
