Join members of the NYPD as we host an outreach event with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community on Sunday, March 5, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will be held at 235 East 20 Street in Manhattan. The event provides community members a chance to interact with NYPD police officers in an informal setting as well as get information from the following NYPD units:
- Community Affairs
- Crime Prevention
- Domestic Violence School Safety
- Canine & Mounted Units
- Operation Safe Child- have an information booklet made that contains important information, including your child’s fingerprints, in case he or she goes missing
The Fire Department will also be there distributing smoke detectors and their EMS members will be raising awareness about first aid. Members of NYC Office of Emergency Management and Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) will be available to share tips on being prepared for during emergency events. Members from the ASPCA and the Department of Sanitation will also be there sharing information and tips.
