NYPD Police Academy Graduation

More than 1,100 new NYPD police officers graduated the Police Academy today in a ceremony held at Madison Square Garden. Mayor Bill de Blasio and Police Commissioner Bill Bratton presided over the celebration that also included an address by Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson. The new officers will be on the street for New Year’s Eve celebrations throughout New York City.

“You entered this auditorium as recruits, but you leave it as cops. I pledge to take care of you, to give you the resources and training you need, because I am a cop, too,” said Police Commissioner Bratton. “There is no greater profession.”
