Ax Wielding Man Arrested for Menacing


On Wednesday December 9th at approximately 4:00 p.m. police officers from the 23 Precinct responded to a homeless shelter located at 336 East 96 Street on a call of an assault in progress.  The suspect, a 37-year-old-man, had assaulted a visitor to the shelter then menaced him with an ax. Staff members at the facility were able to overpower the man. Responding police officers placed the suspect under arrest.
