Bronx Cops Made Strides Against Breast Cancer

On a brisk Sunday morning in October, over 240 off-duty NYPD police officers and civilian employees from Bronx precincts gathered on Orchard Beach to participate in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk. They were among over 12,000 participants, survivors and caregivers who walked to raise funds for the American Cancer Society. Lieutenant Lorraine Perez and Police Officer Eliu Feliciano, from the Bronx Patrol Borough’s Community Affairs Unit, were instrumental in organizing the various precincts to band together for one mission: to show that Bronx cops care. “We didn’t want it to be about any individual precinct,” said Officer Feliciano. “Instead, we wanted to collectively demonstrate our support to community members in the Bronx who’ve been affected by  breast cancer.”

To date, the NYPD Bronx team has raised over $24,000, far exceeding their $5,000 goal!
