Recent Police Academy Grad Continues To Keep NYC Safe

rookie-arrestPolice Officer Justin Barberi (pictured) and Lieutenant Darren Rock arrested a man in possession of an illegal handgun last week after responding to a call of shots fired. Members of Brooklyn’s 63 Precinct, the two responded to a 911 call of gun fire near the Glennwood Houses in Canarsie where they observed a man with a gun.

Police Officer Barberi and Lieutenant Rock jumped out of their police vehicle and chased the suspect, apprehending him just a short distance away. A loaded 9mm semi-automatic handgun was recovered and the 20-year-old man from Brooklyn was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon.
