I walked to the precinct to make an official report and as I spoke to the officer, I broke down crying. The thing is, the officer was so incredibly nice. It was like I was meant to deal with this guy so that I would feel better about things. With his bag in hand, he was actually on his way home for the evening, but he still managed to make time for me.
He told me things would get better, that I would find a job, and even recommended taking a test to become a police officer! He even tried cracking jokes, and in between my tears, I really appreciated that he was trying to make the situation better.
